ISP arrested a South Carolina man yesterday. Around 2:00 AM Wednesday, Indiana State Police were patrolling US 41 in Gibson County when a trooper observed the driver of a 2004 Honda Odyssey swerving in and out of the southbound driving lane. The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued driving south. The driver was later identified as 41-year-old Eric M. Briggs, of Enoree, SC. Princeton Police deployed stop sticks on US 41 south of SR 64. The driver stopped before hitting the stop sticks. Police say Briggs put his hands out the window but failed to obey commands given by officers on scene. After a brief struggle, Briggs was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail where he is currently being held on bond. Further investigation revealed Briggs had three outstanding arrest warrants for failure to appear out of Vanderburgh County.
