Knox County is looking at making some changes in the way residents vote. Today is the first meeting on the proposed changes, with the next meeting set for March 17th. Knox County Clerk David Shelton says they will be discussing electronic poll books.
The poll books are similar to mobile tablets and can scan a voters drivers license verifying their information. The voter can then sign an electronic form which prints out a receipt confirming the voter’s precinct.
The Election Board meets at 5 PM today in the commissioner’s room at the Knox County courthouse.
