Ada M. Carie, 91, of Vincennes, passed away at 4:50 pm Wednesday, March 10. 2021 at BridgePointe Health Campus.
She was born December 30, 1929 in Decker, Indiana to Ray and Helen (Lane) McCrary.
Ada was a beautician for over 50 years and enjoyed sewing making hats for cancer patients. She donated a lot to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital as Ada had a huge heart. Ada loved her family especially her grandkids and Lori and Brandon. She also enjoyed ceramics, cooking, and was known for her chili and noodles. Her memberships included the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary where she had served as president at one time.
Surviving are her children Sue Byrd and Mike Carie of Vincennes; her brothers and sisters Muggs Steininger, Jo Vieke, Dave McCrary, Dan McCrary, and Frank McCrary; along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leo Lee Carie whom preceded her in 1988; a son Tom Carie; a sister Geneva Johnson; a brother Bill McCrary; and her companion for thirty plus years Jack Mason who died on October 6, 2020.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes with entombment to follow in the Tower Mausoleum in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ada Carie.
