Dubois County K9 to receive protective vest

A Dubois County Sheriff’s Department K9 will now be a little safer on the streets. K9 Chase will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from a non-profit organization.
K9 Chase’s vest is sponsored by Diane Thalmann and will be embroidered with the sentiment “Born to Love-Trained to Serve-Loyal Always.”
Delivery is expected within eight to ten weeks.
The non-profit is called Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. and it was established in 2009.
Their mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests along with other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.
Since 2009, the organization has provided over 4,210 vests to K9s in all 50 states at a value of $6.9 million, made possible by both private and corporate donations.
