The Indianapolis Colts have officially acquired quarterback Carson Wentz from the Philadelphia Eagles. The NFL’s new league year began Wednesday at 4 p.m., which meant that the trade could be finalized. The Colts are sending Philly a third-round draft pick in this year’s draft and a conditional second round pick next year. Wentz was selected second overall in the 2016 NFL Draft and played an MVP level before going down late in the 2017 season. He reunites with his former offensive coordinator and current Colts coach Frank Reich. The 28-year-old struggled in 2020 and threw 16 touchdowns to 15 interceptions before being benched late in the season.
The Indianapolis Colts have re-signed running back Marlon Mack, according to multiple media reports. The one-year deal is worth two million dollars. Mack suffered a torn Achilles tendon in the first game of the 2020 season after rushing for over one thousand yards in 2019. The 25-year-old is expected to be healthy in time for the Colts season opener this fall.
