Theodore B. “Ted” Riester, Jr.

Theodore B. “Ted” Riester, Jr., passed away on March 19, 2021 at his residence. Ted was born on April 15, 1968 in Washington the son of Theodore B., Sr., and Nancy (Fitzgerald) Riester. Ted married Cheryl Lane on February 15, 1997.
Ted was very proud that he served his country in the United States Army during Operation Desert Shield/ Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and retired as a Staff Sergeant after twenty-five years. He was a member of New Hope Christian Church, loved the Chicago Cubs, was an avid Washington Hatchet fan, loved to ride his Harley Davidson, and was an explosives handler employed through CAAA through Crane. Ted was also a member of the Washington American Legion and the Odon VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Riester of Washington; daughter, Sydni Stoll, and her husband Bradley of Washington; son, Samuel Riester of Washington; his beloved pet Sadie Mae; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, Buddy Joe and Sandra Lane, and his grandparents, Harry and Hazel Riester, and Norman O. and Mary Fitzgerald.
Friends may visit with Ted’s family from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN. Ted’s funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Coquillard officiating.
