Raymond Cleo Truelove, 94, of Cannelburg, passed away at 9:35 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2021 at his home.
He was born February 21, 1927 in Rutherford Township to the late Archibald and Rosetta (Rutherford) Truelove.
Raymond married Laverne Carrico on November 27, 1946 and she preceded him in death.
He was a United States Navy veteran and bravely served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 120.
Raymond enjoyed volunteering for the Right to Life paper drives and as a Red Coat at Daviess Community Hospital for many years. He was an avid “master” gardener and enjoyed taking care of honeybees. He loved playing euchre.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Truelove; son, Eddie Jo Truelove; parents, Archibald and Rosetta Truelove; great-grandson, Isaiah Watson; son-in-law, Carl Luthe; step-granddaughter, Chrystal Watson.
Raymond is survived by his children, Mary Luthe of Pleasantview, TN, Paul (Kathy) Truelove of Loogootee, Anthony Truelove of Fort Wayne, Michael (Retha) Truelove of Lubbock, TX, James (Laura) Truelove of Montgomery, Patricia Baxter of Washington and Rita (Janet) Truelove of Greenwood; 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Sudhakar Bhastati and concelebrant Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at All Saints Catholic Church in Cannelburg. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Loogootee.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 26, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church and Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
