Thursday, we have Hatchet Baseball live from the Sports Complex as the Hatchets host Jasper. Pre-game coverage starts at 5:15pm on Memories 107.9fm.

Friday on the General, it’s our special Viking Fan Zone Pre-view Show live from the Hotel in Indianapolis as Mike DeCoursey and Jeff Doyle will have several special guests to get you ready for Championship Saturday including Coach Thompson, Commissioner Paul Neidig, and many others. Saturday, it’s the State Finals as Barr Reeve plays Kouts for the 1A championship. Our extensive pregame starts at 9am with Fans in the Stands and tip off is set for 10:07am Saturday morning. We will also bring you the 2A finals between Parke Heritage and Ft Wayne Blackhawk Christian. Tip off for the 2A finale is set for 1:30pm. The Indiana Hoosiers officially hired Mike Woodson as the school’s new men’s basketball coach. Woodson played at IU from 1976-1980 and has been an NBA coach for 25 years, most recently as an assistant with the New York Knicks. The 63-year-old Indianapolis native has never coached at the collegiate level, but as a player he scored over two thousand points under coach Bob Knight. In the mid-2000s, he helped rebuild the Atlanta Hawks from basement dwellers to a perennial playoff team. Woodson was the head coach of the Knicks from 2012 through 2014 and led the franchise to the number two seed in the Eastern Conference in his first full season. His contract is for six seasons, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowksi. Former Ohio State and Butler coach Thad Matta will join the program as an associate athletic director for men’s basketball administration. Woodson met with his new players Sunday night and will be introduced at a press conference Monday at 10 a.m. He replaces Archie Miller, who was fired after four seasons.
The men’s NCAA Tournament continues in Indianapolis over the next two nights with the Elite Eight. Two games will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium Monday and Tuesday night at Lucas Oil Stadium to determine the Final Four. The Midwest regional final features number 12 seed Oregon State taking on number two seed Houston. The Beavers and Cougars tip off at 7:15. The South Region will crown a champion when the top-seeded Baylor Bears take on number three seed Arkansas just before 10 p.m. On Tuesday night, number one overall seed Gonzaga will battle number seven seed USC at 7:15, and top seeded Michigan will play number 11 seed UCLA in the night cap. Gonzaga is 29-0 after cruising past Creighton, while the Trojans handled conference foe Oregon. The Wolverines defeated Florida State by 18 in the Sweet 16 and are the lone Big Ten team remaining. The Bruins upset second-seeded Alabama in overtime to advance to their first Elite Eight since 2008.
The Indiana women’s basketball team will play for a spot in the Final Four tonight against the Arizona Wildcats. The fourth-seeded Hoosiers held on to beat number one seed North Carolina State 73-70 Saturday to advance to the program’s first ever Elite Eight. Indiana had all five starters score in double figures, led by Ali Patberg’s 17 points. The Wildcats are the number three seed in the region and defeated second-seeded Texas A&M to advance to their first Elite Eight. Indiana takes on Arizona Monday night at 9 p.m. from the Alamodome in San Antonio.
The Indiana Pacers take on the Washington Wizards tonight in our nation’s capital. The Pacers are 21-23 after defeating the Dallas Mavericks Friday night. The Wizards have struggled to a 16-28 record.
