Washington elementary students competed for the Future Chef title at the Washington Junior High gym Tuesday evening.
The Future Chef Competition is sponsored by Sodexo; the food service provider for the Washington schools. The competition is open to students in grades 2nd through 5th at all four Washington elementary schools. Winning the Future Chef title can open even more doors for Washington students. The winner of the first Future Chef Competition was Trevon Alford. Alford won the Food Network’s 2019 Kids Baking Championship.
In last night’s competition, Brent Barber placed fourth with his Healthy Baked Fish Sticks. Blake Barber and his Sweet Potato Hash Browns placed third.
The silver medal went to Brecklin Cox with her Grilled Chicken and Shrimp Wrap.
This year’s Future Chef gold medal went to Armani Sandoval with his Tacos Armani.
The Barbers and Cox attend Veale elementary. Sandoval is a student at Lena Dunn Elementary.
