Washington girls Tennis Team opened the season defeating Heritage Hills 5-0. This was the first match of the season. Next match will be Friday vs Gibson Southern. 

The Washington Hatchet Baseball team fell at home in five innings to Castle 13 to nothing yesterday.  Six errors, walks, and only three hits led for a long day for the home team.  Washington will regroup tonight with a short road trip to Montgomery to face Barr Reeve.  First pitch is set for 5pm, with live coverage at 4:45pm on Memories 107.9fm. 

The North Daviess Cougars topped Springs Valley 17-5 on the road.  The Cougars are back in action Friday night at Shakamak. 

North Knox jumped in front of Loogootee with a five-run second inning to take out the Class A honorable mention Loogootee Lions for a 12-6 Blue Chip Conference win. 

The Washington Softball team lost a tough battle at home last night to Forest Park 10 to 7. 

Tyler Naquin homered twice and drove in seven runs as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 14-1 Tuesday night at Great American Ballpark. Naquin’s first homer sailed over the right field seats and left the park entirely. Jonathan India went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs of his own as the Reds improved to 4-1. The Milwaukee Brewers scored three runs in the top of the first inning, and that was more than enough as the Brew Crew went on to beat the Chicago Cubs 4-0 at Wrigley Field. Chicago mustered just one hit in defeat. The Detroit Tigers walked off the Minnesota Twins 4-3 in 10 innings. The St. Louis Cardinals scored three in the sixth to win 4-2 over the Miami Marlins, and the Chicago White Sox beat the Seattle Mariners 10-4 behind five RBIs from Jose Abreu. 

The Chicago Bulls ran past the shorthanded Indiana Pacers 113-97 Tuesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Pacers were once again without starters Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon, who remained day-to-day with ankle and hip injuries, respectively.
