The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing a retired officer.
Forrest Kieser served Dubois County from 1988-2013.
He began his career as Chief Jailer at the old Jail in downtown Jasper and was sworn in as a Deputy in 1988.
During his career, he became the first K-9 handler for the Sheriff’s Office, was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
Kieser was then placed in charge of the County’s Sex and Violent Offender Registry.
On Wednesday, the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office presented him with a formal retired identification and thanked him for 26 years of service.
