North Daviess baseball takes on Clay City tonight with first pitch at 6pm 

Loogootee Softball at home vs  Orleans at 5pm 

Hatchet Softball is at home tonight to take on North Daviess.  First pitch is set for 5pm. 

At the Washington Golf Invitational on Saturday, Evansville Mater Dei claimed the win with a 326.  Barr Reeve finished with 330, and Washington right behind at 331.  South Knox 347, Vincennes 401, Washington Catholic 444 and North Daviess 449. 

Girls Tennis Gibson Southern topped Loogootee 4-1 

Washington Baseball team suffered a tough loss in 8 innings to Evansville North 7-6.  The Hatchets led into the bottom of the seventh but gave up two runs to tie it, then North scored the go-ahead in the bottom of the 8th.  Evansville North remains unbeaten at 7-0, while the Hatchets go to 4-3.  Hatchet baseball travels to Mt Vernon tomorrow.  

Barr Reeve Softball Lost to Clay City 12-5 on Saturday.  Hannah Graber went 3 for 3 while Grace Butcher 2 for 3.  Barr Reeve Softball is at Springs Valley today, while the Barr Reeve Baseball team will host Springs Valley tomorrow.  Live coverage of Barr Reeve Baseball starts at 5pm tomorrow on the General 95.9 / 101.3 / AM 1580 tomorrow afternoon. 

Reds lost 7-0 in Arizona yesterday for their first shut-out loss of the season.  Cincy stays out West with San Francisco tonight.  9:15pm airtime on the General.   

The Kansas City Royals beat the Chicago White Sox 4-3 in ten innings 

The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Chicago Cubs 7-1 in Pittsburgh. 

The Cleveland Indians completed a sweep of the Detroit Tigers 5-2, and the Milwaukee Brewers drubbed the St. Louis Cardinals 9-3. 

With stellar ball-striking and a command of Augusta National unmatched by anyone in the field over the final two rounds, Hideki Matsuyama at  -10 converted a 54-hole lead into his first green jacket and major championship, winning the 2021 Masters by one stroke on Sunday. Matsuyama’s victory in this 85th Masters is not only his first green jacket but the first major championship won by a Japanese men’s golfer and only the second ever captured by a men’s golfer from an Asian nation. 

Martin Truex Jr. passed his teammate Denny Hamlin with 15 laps to go and went on to win in the NASCAR Cup Series at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia. The race at NASCAR’s shortest track was postponed from Saturday night until Sunday afternoon due to rain.
