A bill featuring an innkeeper’s tax increase for Daviess County is on its way to become law.
Innkeepers tax is a tax that visitors pay when staying at local lodging spots.
That money then goes to the county tourism board for local projects.
The Daviess County Council approved the resolution earlier this year and received support from both the Commissioners and community members.

The bill will increase the Daviess County’s innkeeper’s tax from 5% to 9%.
According to Daviess County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Joe Morris, the additional funds will go towards promoting tourism for Daviess County.
