Edger C. Venters Jr., 68, went home to be with his Lord Tuesday April 20, 2021 at 10:15 P.M at his residence in Loogootee, IN.
He was born on November 3, 1952 to Edger C. Sr. and Addie Lorene (Harrison) Venters in Fairfield, Illinois.
Edger was the oldest son of eleven children. He married Kathryn Isaacs Venters on January 25, 1971 at Fairfield, IL. Edger attended church at Full Gospel Chapel at Washington, IN. He loved his grandchildren and his family. Edger enjoyed reading his bible, hunting, and fishing. He was employed by Isaacs Sawmill of Loogootee, IN for 12 years. Edger worked in the timber and sawmill business since 1970 and owned and operated his own timber and sawmill from 1980-2004.
He is preceded in death by his oldest son Donald Colemen Venters, his parents, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.
Edger is survived by his wife, Kay Venters, his daughter Lisa (David) Nixon of State Road, NC, his sons; James (Megan) Venters and Joshua (Amy) Venters both of Loogootee, IN, his sisters; Brenda (Garry) Thomason, Mt Vernon, IL, Veda (Tony) Berry of Bridgepoint, IL, Betty Francis Betancourt of Washington, IN, his brothers; Bill (Janet) Venters, Cisne, IL, Steve (Dorothy) Venters of Fairfield, IL, his grandchildren; Josh Jr. Luke, Hannah, Jacob, Kaelynn of Loogootee, Michael, Jordan, and Mariah of State Road, North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M Friday April 23, 2021 for family and friends at Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee, with Denver Craft to officiate. Online condolences can be made at www.blakefuneralhomes.com
