Michael E. Hovis, 63, of Shoals, IN passed away Friday April 23, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born on December 28, 1957 in El Paso, Texas to Alva H. and Mary Jane (Howell) Hovis.
Mike was a gifted heavy equipment operator. He worked for different companies over the years including Toltest and Maven Construction and Environmental. Mike loved music, especially Rock and Roll and was considered a Music Historian by his family and friends for always knowing lyrics, facts, and stories about the songs he loved. He was a generous man and an animal lover. Mike will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Alva H. Hovis.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Wells Hovis, his daughter, Alexandria Gerkin, his mother, Jane Hovis his siblings, Alan Hovis, Kim Hovis, and Karol Hovis, his mother-in-law, Brenda Wells, his father-in-law, Ferrell Wells, his brother-in-law, Terry Wells, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
