Zack Wheeler pitched eight one-hit innings and Rhys Hoskins homered twice as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1. In Los Angeles, Jesse Winker hit a two-run homer in the 10th and the Cincinnati Reds beat the defending champion Dodgers 5-3.

Butler basketball announced that David Ragland has joined LaVall Jordan’s staff as an assistant coach. The Evansville native spent the past three seasons as an assistant with Utah State. Ragland also has previous experience as an assistant at Valparaiso, Northern Kentucky, Bowling Green and Indiana State, and he was the head coach at Vincennes University for two seasons.
