Barr Reeve Baseball topped Gibson Southern 4 to 2.  Freshman Ethan Stoll got his first varsity start on the mound and went the distance for the win.  Barr Reeve will host Loogootee tonight in Montgomery.  Live coverage starts at 5pm on the General 95.9 / 101.3fm.
Trey Reed struck out 12 and went the distance as Washington defeated Evansville Reitz on the road last night 9 to nothing.  The Hatchets are now 10 and 5 and finally get back home tonight to take on a  tough Southridge team.  The Hatchet Baseball Babe will be crowned before the game at 5:15pm, and first pitch is set for 6pm tonight on Memories 107.9fm.

The Washington Girls tennis team will celebrate senior night tonight as they welcome in Mt Vernon.  The match gets underway at 6:30pm.
Reigning National League MVP Freddie Freeman broke a five-all tie with a three-run home run in the fifth inning, and the Atlanta Braves went on to beat the Chicago Cubs 8-7 Monday night. The Cubs got within a run with a two-run homer off the bat of Willson Contreras in the seventh, but they did not score again. The American League Central leading Kansas City Royals completed a sweep of the Detroit Tigers 3-2. Former Indianapolis Indian Jordan Luplow hit a two-run home run in the top of the 10th inning to lift the Cleveland Indians over the Minnesota Twins 5-3. Zack Wheeler pitched eight one-hit innings and Rhys Hoskins homered twice as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1. In Los Angeles, Jesse Winker hit a two-run homer in the 10th and the Cincinnati Reds beat the defending champion Dodgers 5-3.
The Indiana Pacers hope to continue their winning ways tonight when they host the Portland Trail Blazers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Blue and Gold have won three straight despite still battling the injury bug.
Butler basketball announced that David Ragland has joined LaVall Jordan’s staff as an assistant coach. The Evansville native spent the past three seasons as an assistant with Utah State. Ragland also has previous experience as an assistant at Valparaiso, Northern Kentucky, Bowling Green and Indiana State, and he was the head coach at Vincennes University for two seasons.
