At last nights City Council meeting, the Council introduced an ordinance to establish a fund to receive funds from the state and federal American Rescue Plan Coronavirus Local Recovery Grant. The separate fund is required by the state.
Mayor Rhoads reported the City should receive approximately $1.3 million between May and June this year, with a similar amount scheduled for next year.
At the end of the meeting the Council discussed developments in the on-going discussions with the County Commissioners on a combined 9-1-1 Dispatch Center. Several Council members had questions about the renewed discussions.
The Council also instructed City Attorney Tim Dant to construct a draft Noise Ordinance based on the Evansville model. The City will then work to fit the proposed ordinance to Washington’s needs.
