Huntingburg man arrested after police chase

A man was arrested in Pike County after a brief chase Wednesday.
Around 4:30 PM Wednesday, Indiana State Police saw a 1997 Ford truck drive left of center in Campbelltown on SR 61.
The driver, later identified as 35-year-old Bruce Phillips of Huntingburg, nearly struck the troopers patrol car.
He led police on a brief chase before driving into a cemetery, losing control, and sliding down an embankment.
Phillips then jumped out of his truck and ran into a nearby wooded area where he was later taken into custody.
A female passenger was also discovered who was not injured and later released.
Phillips displayed signs of impairment, failed field sobriety tests, and refused to submit to a chemical test.
He was taken to the Pike County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.
He was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Resisting Law Enforcement, and Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated with a Prior Conviction.
He was also arrested on Outstanding Warrants from Dubois County and Pike County.
