Bonnie B. Renshaw

Bonnie B. Renshaw,78, of Vincennes, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021.

She was born in Princeton, Indiana on February 4, 1943 to Wilson “French” and Mary (Bingham) Witherspoon.

Bonnie retired from teaching from South Knox Elementary and had also taught at both Vigo and Fairlawn Elementary Schools. A member of First Baptist Church in Vincennes, she enjoyed playing the piano for the children at church, taught Sunday School, and played piano at local nursing homes.  She was a GED tutor at the Blue Jean Center, and she enjoyed being a volunteer for Kids Hope.  She was passionate about baking and sharing food with others; mushroom hunting and observing birds and wildlife; sewing; following the weather; and being pen pals globally.  Bonnie was truly selfless and loved being called “grandma” by her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband Max Renshaw, whom she married July 10, 1971; her sons Scott Renshaw and his wife, Becky, of Danville, IN; and Eric Renshaw and his wife, Susanne, of Wadesville, IN; her sisters Ellen Bardole and her husband, Jay, of Vincennes, IN; Laura Stacy of Lowellville, OH; and Minerva Haugstad and her husband, David, of West Lafayette, IN; and her grandchildren she adored Avery, Maxwell, Sibyl, and Oliver Renshaw.

Following a private graveside service in Patoka, a reception to honor Bonnie will be held at First Baptist Church in Vincennes on Friday May 7, 2021 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm EDT. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation with checks payable to the Alexis Jenkins Scholarship Fund. Alexis was Bonnie’s Kids Hope student since the first grade and she plans to attend Oakland City University to study education this fall.  Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Bonnie Renshaw.
