The Vincennes Police Department is making citizens aware of a scam that has been happening more frequently.
Citizens have been receiving telephone calls from people saying that their vehicle has been impounded and that they are in trouble with law enforcement.
They say, unfortunately, these are now local numbers calling in an attempt to try and blend in.
Police remind residents that no business will contact you asking for personal information over the phone.
They say it’s best to hang up the phone and avoid giving out any personal information.
