The NFL announced its 2021 schedule Wednesday, the first year of a 17-game regular season. The Indianapolis Colts will open the season September 12th at Lucas Oil Stadium against the Seattle Seahawks, and the Colts will try to start 1-0 for the first time since 2013. Indy has four prime time games scheduled, although just one is at home, when the Colts host the New York Jets Thursday, November 4th. Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play at Lucas Oil Stadium November 28th. The Colts will spend Christmas in the desert, as they will play against the Arizona Cardinals the night of December 25th. Indy’s bye week does not come until week 14, and the Colts’ first five games could define the season.
The Indianapolis 500 entry list was released Wednesday, and it includes 35 car and driver combinations. The entry list features nine former winners, one shy of the record set in 1992. With 35 entries, two drivers will be bumped from the 33-car field for the Greatest Spectacle in Racing later this month. The 105th Running of the Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for Sunday, May 30th, and qualifications will take place on May 22nd and May 23rd. Amed Rosario connected for a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 10th to lift the Cleveland Indians to a 2-1 win over the Chicago Cubs. Rosario drove in both Cleveland runs, as the Tribe swept the two-game series and have won eight out of nine. The Cincinnati Reds scored four in the top of the 10th to beat the Pirates 5-1 in Pittsburgh. Jesse Winker and Eugenio (ay-you-HAY-nee-o) Suarez combined for four RBI and the Reds bullpen threw five and a third no-hit innings. Andrew Vaughn hit his first career homer as part of a five-run fifth inning, and the White Sox drubbed the Twins 13-8. The Detroit Tigers doubled up the Kansas City Royals 4-2, and the Milwaukee Brewers broke a 1-all tie with three runs in the bottom of the eighth to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-1.
