A tough day at the plate for Washington led to a 5 inning 10 to nothing win for the Barr Reeve Vikings over Washington in softball at the sports complex. Washington had only two base runners and one hit on the day as Emma Davis and Karlye Graber combined for nine strike outs in the Viking victory.
Both the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox will take on American League Central opponents on Friday afternoon as the Sox host the Kansas City Royals at 3:10 PM and the Cubs visit the Detroit Tigers at 7:10. The Cubs are five games back of the NL Central leading St. Louis Cardinals, who play the San Diego Padres out west at 10:10 PM. The Cincinnati Reds fell out west to Colorado 13 to 8.
