A tough day at the plate for Washington led to a 5 inning 10 to nothing win for the Barr Reeve Vikings over Washington in softball at the sports complex.  Washington had only two base runners and one hit on the day as Emma Davis and Karlye Graber combined for nine strike outs in the Viking victory.

The Washington baseball team cruised to a big win over Pike Central 12-2 after five innings on the road. Ian Hill went yard for the Hatchets to pace the offense.  Washington is now 13-9 on the season and will host the Tom Miles Invitational tomorrow.
Barr Reeve baseball topped Orleans on the road 3-1.  Barr Reeve goes to 13-6 and 5-1 in the Blue Chip Conference.
The North Daviess Cougars topped North Central in six innings 12-2.  North Daviess faces North Knox tonight.
The Washington Girls Tennis team defeated Tecumseh 5-0.  They improved to  18-0 on the season and 11-0 in conference play. Washington will play for the conference title against South Spencer today.
The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Blue and Gold topping the Indiana Pacers by a final of 142-133.

Both the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox will take on American League Central opponents on Friday afternoon as the Sox host the Kansas City Royals at 3:10 PM and the Cubs visit the Detroit Tigers at 7:10. The Royals and White Sox matchup is also the first game of a doubleheader that is being made up from April 10. Lucas Giolito takes the hill for Tony La Russa’s club in game one. Neither team has announced a starter for game two scheduled to begin at 8:10. The White Sox continue to lead the AL Central by one-and-a-half games over the Cleveland Indians, but the rest of the field is not within striking range. Kansas City is six-and-a-half games back, while Detroit and Minnesota each are 10 back of the top spot. The Cubs battle the Tigers in the Motor City. Jake Arrieta is set to return from the Injured List and start for David Ross’ team. The Cubs are five games back of the NL Central leading St. Louis Cardinals, who play the San Diego Padres out west at 10:10 PM.  The Cincinnati Reds fell out west to Colorado 13 to 8.  The series continues tonight with live coverage beginning at 8:10pm on the General 95.9 / 101.3fm.
