A Daviess County couple was arrested this week for causing trouble at two Indiana airports. Jonathon and Lauren Miller were booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on child neglect and trespassing charges.
Police say on Monday, the two showed up to the Daviess County Airport, and demanded someone fly them to Key West. At one point, police say Jonathon got on the tarmac and jumped onto a moving plane.
On Tuesday, Daviess County police warned Vanderburgh County deputies that the couple was heading to Tri-State Aero. Vanderburgh County police got there just as the Millers were parking. When police confronted the couple, three children and three other people were also inside their van.
Lauren told police they went to Tri-State Aero to meet a pilot, who was going to fly them to Florida, but couldn’t prove the pilot even existed. Jonathon also told police he and Lauren had used drugs the day before.
Both Jonathon and Lauren were arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail. The children were released to another family in Daviess County. The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s website has since reported the couple was released from jail.
