A far-reaching theft ring has been broken up by State Police and local law enforcement agencies.
The investigation started small with a report of a dump trailer taken from a utility company in Lawrence County and a catalytic converter cut from a company truck.
Following that, came dozens of theft reports in Monroe, Orange, Washington, Martin, and Dubois Counties.
State and local investigators compared notes and their joint investigation has resulted in the arrests of seven people so far.
The charges range from theft, corrupt business influence, and criminal mischief.
