The results are in from a recent state police project.
Indiana State Police, along with Troopers from surrounding states, conducted state-wide patrols with a primary focus on seat belts.
This collective effort took place across Indiana from May 24th to May 31st.
The extra patrols resulted in 159 Traffic Citations with 44 of those due to motorists not wearing a seat belt.
Eight of those citations were due to improper child restraints.
460 warnings were also issued, and the patrols resulted in eight criminal arrests.
The Indiana State Police Jasper Post says you can make a difference in your community by calling 911 if you observe high-risk driving behavior, suspect impaired driving, or suspect criminal activity on roadways.
