The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department is recognizing a retired sheriff.
Terry Tanner, began his career with the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department in April of 1975.
During his career, Tanner served as Chief Deputy for 12 years prior to being elected Sheriff for his first term in 1991.
He held a total of 3 terms as Dubois County Sheriff serving two terms from 1991-1998 and a term from 2006-2010.
He retired in March of 2011.
On behalf of the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office, former Sheriff Terry Tanner was presented with a formal retired identification.
In a ceremony this week, the department thanked him for his service and continued dedication to his community.
