Last night the Washington City Council received an update on the western segment of the Old 50 project.
Nick Jahn with VS Engineering complimented Don Gress Construction, the lead contractor on the project, for their work.
Weather delayed the project during the last two weeks, but Mayor Dave Rhoads said he hopes to see all intersections open by July 4…
Jahn also reported on the center phase of the Old 50 project.
He said planning for temporary right of way acquisition is underway.
Utility work will get underway in 2022, and work on the roadway is scheduled for 2023.
Jahn said there will be a public informational meeting on July 14, at the Community Building in East Side Park.
In addition, he noted that federal funding is being used on the central section of the project which will expand the time frame for planning and the project itself.
Richard Burch of Midwestern Engineers told the Council that the water line rebuild will become a separate project all together.
