Washington noise ordinance talks continue

Washington’s City Council met Monday evening and discussed the City’s noise ordinance.
The proposed ordinance was tabled for further discussion for the third time.
Council members are continuing discussion on a set decibel level as some air conditioners can register above the proposed 80 decibel limit.
There is also no firm agreement on what decibel limit should be applied.
While the current discussion was generated by a complaint from a neighbor of Purple Joe’s on West Walnut, the Council is faced with the fact the ordinance will apply to all areas of the City.
The Council is looking to hold a public hearing to get further input from residents.
