The traffic light at the Meridian Street intersection on HWY 50 will soon be operational.
Beginning Wednesday, June 23rd, the new traffic signal on business 50 will become active.
The city says at this time, Meridian Street will remain closed, both northbound and southbound.
The signal will be setup so that business 50 travelers will see a green light for the majority of the time, but about 20 seconds or so of the 2-minute cycle will be red.
The intent is to get the public adapted to stopping at the intersection before the Meridian Street cross traffic is introduced.
The setup will be temporary and will run for approximately two weeks, at which time Meridian Street will be opened and the signal will be fully operational.
