The Vincennes Police Department is reminding motorists to be on the look out for bike riders.
They recently reported that on Tuesday, officers responded to a total of ten accidents.
Of these ten accidents, two were vehicle vs. bicycle.
Both vehicle vs. pedalcyclists accidents occurred because the bike riders disregarded stop signs or traffic lights.
The department says when riding bicycles, you must follow the same laws as vehicles.
They also say they would also like to remind motorists of bicycle safety laws.
Indiana Code 9-21-11-2 states the following:
*A person riding a bicycle or operating a Class B motor driven cycle upon a roadway has all the rights and duties under this article that are applicable to a person who drives a vehicle, except the following:
(1) Special regulations of this article.
(2) Those provisions of this article that by their nature have
no application.
