Former Dubois County Sheriff receives recognition

Another former Dubois County Sheriff has been recognized by the department.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says Jerry Breeding has always enjoyed serving his country and community.
Prior to beginning his career with the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office, he served 3 years in the 101st Airborne Division, 8 years in the Indiana National Guard, and approximately 3 years as the Dubois Town Marshal.
He was then hired by the Sheriff’s Office in 1976.
After 22 years, Breeding was elected Sheriff from 1998-2006, for a total of 2 terms.
On January 1, 2007, Sheriff Jerry Breeding retired after 31 years of service.
On behalf of the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office, he was presented with a formal retired identification.
The department thanked him for his 31 years of service.
