Early on in the pandemic, people flocked to stock up on food — clearing out meat lockers and freezers at stores.
In order to meet demand, some stores had to look to smaller suppliers for meat when larger suppliers ran out.
Merkley and Sons Meat Packing was one of those places that was able to capitalize on the high demand.
