Demo derby driver transported to hospital following injury

A man was transported to the hospital during the demo derby at the Daviess County Fair on Saturday.
Around 8:00 pm, action was stopped when the red flag went up due to an injury.
One of the drivers, Mike Gray, had taken a hard to the driver’s side of his derby car.
Medical crews rushed to the scene to administer first aid.
He was then loaded on a stretcher and transported to Daviess Community Hospital by ambulance.
He was conscious upon leaving the arena.
On Sunday, officials reported he had bruised ribs, but was doing fine and recovering.
Daviess Community Hospital was on scene along side the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
