Robert Kent Russell, 65, of Otwell, passed away Wednesday June 23, 2021 at St. Vincent’s hospital in Indianapolis. Robert (Bob), a life-long Pike County resident, was born June 8, 1956 to Loyal (Cotton) and Delores Russell, the third of four children. He attended Otwell High School.
Bob worked in the mining industry for most of his career until his recent retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his many friends and his dog, Spot. Some of his hobbies were restoring vintage vehicles and riding his motorcycle. Bob could tell a great story to keep everyone entertained and all his children inherited that special gift.
Bob is survived by his Sons Keith (Robin) Russell residing in Petersburg IN, Kurt Russell residing in Madisonville TN and his daughter Megan Russell residing in Seattle WA; Mother Delores Russell; Brothers Kerry Russell and Gary Russell, Sister Connie (Mick) Houchin; four grandchildren, Emma Russell, Addy Russell, Finn Russell and Daniel Russell; a niece, nephews and other extended family members. Bob was preceded in death by his Father Loyal (Cotton) Russell.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 1st at Harris Funeral Homes in Petersburg. Visitation will be from 10a.m. until 2p.m. Reverend Dennis Patton will officiate the service at 2p.m. Burial will follow at Traylor Union Church of God (Burr Oak). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
