Nick Castellanos drove in seven runs, including a grand slam, and the Cincinnati Reds pulled away for a 12-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Castellanos’ grand slam to center in the seventh gave the Reds a 6-4 lead before they pulled away with a six-run eighth. In Cleveland, Jose Ramirez drove in five runs, including a three-run home run and the Indians ran past the Detroit Tigers 13-5. Cleveland is now two games back of the White Sox for the lead in the AL Central after Chicago and Minnesota were rained out.
The Milwaukee Brewers scored 10 runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to run away with a 14-4 win over the Chicago Cubs. With the game tied at four, the Brewers went off with a 10-run eighth, including a pair of three-run homers. Milwaukee has won six games in a row to take a four-game lead in the NL Central, while Chicago has lost four straight. Elsewhere in the division, the Cardinals scored six in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Diamondbacks 7-1 in St. Louis.
There will likely be a shake-up of the driver lineup at Andretti Autosport after the IndyCar season, according to Racer.com. Marshall Pruett reported that team owner Michael Andretti does not expect all of Andretti Autosport’s current full-time driver lineup to return. Colton Herta and Alexander Rossi are under contract for next season, while Ryan Hunter-Reay and James Hinchcliffe are not. Only Herta has won a race so far this season, and Rossi, Hunter-Reay and Hinchcliffe are mired in 13th, 15th and 20th in the point standings, respectively.
The college basketball schedule for the upcoming season continues to come together. The ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchups were announced Monday, including a battle between projected top-20 teams. Purdue will host Florida State at Mackey Arena Tuesday, November 30th. The Boilermakers and Seminoles have met twice in the past three seasons, but it will be Florida State’s first trip to West Lafayette. Purdue has won six straight home games in the annual challenge.
Indiana will play at Syracuse Tuesday, November 30th in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, in what will likely be Mike Woodson’s first true road game as the Hoosiers’ coach. IU last played ‘Cuse in December of 2013, the same calendar year the Orange eliminated the Hoosiers from the NCAA Tournament in the Sweet 16. Indiana has not won on the road in the event since 2011, and is 1-5 all-time against Syracuse, with the one win coming in the 1987 National Championship Game.
Notre Dame will take on Illinois in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Fighting Irish will play in Champaign Monday, November 29th. It will be the third matchup between the schools in the event, with the Irish taking the first two games, including most recently in 2018. Notre Dame is 4-4 all-time in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
