A deadlocked jury caused a mistrial in the case against a Gibson County elected leader.
Gibson County Clerk Jim Morrow was charged with three felony gun crimes over an incident outside a Princeton convenience store in 2019.
A mistrial was declared Wednesday evening after the 6-member jury ended deliberations deadlocked and unable to reach a verdict.
The decision means the case can be re-tried again at some point.
Prosecutors have not said yet what they plan to do on this case in the future.
On Wednesday afternoon, Morrow took the stand in his own defense.
He admitted that he pulled his handgun during an argument with someone in the store, but did not put it to the person’s neck.
He said he holstered it after seeing the other person was unarmed.
During the trial, jurors watched cell phone video recorded by a bystander of Morrow and another man yelling at one another.
