The first round of the Major League Baseball Draft takes place Sunday night, and a pair of players with Indiana ties could be selected. Fishers native Sam Bachman is ranked the 14th best prospect in the draft by Baseball America. The right handed pitcher out of Miami of Ohio was a First Team All-MAC selection in 2021 with a 1.81 ERA. Southridge High School standout Colson Montgomery has been linked to the Chicago White Sox at pick number 22 in numerous mock drafts. The athletic infielder led Southridge to the Class 3A state title and is committed to IU, but he’s one of the best high school prospects in the draft.
