The west end of the HWY 50 project recently wrapped up after a year of construction.
The stretch of road now features brand new infrastructure, streetlights, curbs, sidewalks, and several other updates.
Washington Street Superintendent Bryan Sergesketter says the project had minimal difficulties…
The next phase of the project will include the roadway from SE 3rd Street to State Street in Washington.
When completed, it will have visually the same appearance as the west end. It will include the addition of a sidewalk running down business 50 past 257, as well as a 10-foot multi use pathway on the north side.
The State Street fork across from the new Dollar General will also be reconstructed into a curve leading to HWY 50. It will look like the curve near Reid’s Deli.
Bryan Sergesketter also says some work will be done near SE 11th Street…
No stoplight is set to be installed at this time.
The infrastructure, however, will be available if the future warrants the installation of one.
