With a police escort, 80 members of Indiana Task Force One returned to their headquarters in Indianapolis on Friday.
The urban search and rescue team spent the first half of this month assisting with rescue and recovery efforts at the scene of the condo tower collapse in Surfside, Florida.
Team members and their civilian drivers were tested for COVID-19 upon their return, and they’ll be monitored for signs and symptoms for the next 14 days.
They’ll get some sleep this weekend.
After a mandatory 72-hour rehab period, they’ll be allowed to return to work.
