Vincennes Police are searching for robbery suspects after an incident on Wednesday.
The victim reported that a somewhat heavyset male drove up in a truck and came to the door saying he was with a tree trimming service. He then inquired about cutting down a tree in the victim’s backyard.
The victim took the unknown male to the backyard where they stayed for about fifteen minutes. The victim then went back inside and noticed some of her jewelry was missing and her purse had been moved. Police believe that while the victim was outside with the male, another subject exited the truck and went inside the residence stealing several items.
Vincennes Police is reminding the public to please be aware of people knocking on your door and saying they are workers. They say always ask for credentials and if something doesn’t feel right, shut your door and call 911.
Police ask that if you have any information or see the truck, attempt to get a license plate number and call the Vincennes Police Department at 812-882-1630.
