The Daviess County Board of Commissioners heard from the Highway Department at yesterday’s meeting.
Highway Supervisor Phil Cornelius noted the weather slowed work on the 900 E project, but that they are back at it this week continuing work on the fill area by the flat creek bridge.
The Commissioners also sent Cornelius off with some kind words as his last day at the department is tomorrow.
His retirement was announced earlier this month.
The board appointed Chris Winkler to be the new Highway Supervisor.
Winkler has been with Highway Department for 10 years and says he is looking forward to continuing the work.
