Commissioners hear request from Farbest Foods

The Daviess County Commissioners met with a full agenda Tuesday morning.
The board heard from Farbest Foods who was requesting road work be done on 1200 E between 600 North and 700 North. Kent Peter spoke on behalf of Farbest and stated they would like the road widened due the amount of semi’s that travel that road to and from their farm. The road is currently 15 feet wide. The Commissioners agreed to take the request under advisement.
In addition, the commissioners approved two new part time positions for the Health Department as well as a Federal Preparedness Grant worth about $31,000.
The board also agreed to table a contract with AT&T as well as plans for a new Maintenance Shop. The high price tag of the shop and concerns over appearance were the two big reasons.
Lastly, the board approved a bid in the amount of $772,760 for improvements and updates to the Daviess County Security Center.
