The state is being aggressive in trying to recoup around 100-million-dollars in overpaid unemployment benefits in 2020.
That’s on top of an extra 13-million overpaid this year.
Many Hoosiers have been complaining about the state’s tactics in order to get them to pay back the overpaid cash.
So far the state has recovered 26-million-dollars.
Indiana has a waiver process for people to keep their over payments, but records show the state has not waived a single payment yet.
Records also show that 5-percent of that overpaid money was paid out to fraudulent claims.
