Steven Heiden

Steven M. Heiden, 66, passed away at 2:12 pm on August 1, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his family. Steve was born on November 20, 1954 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Alvin and Mary (Koller) Heiden. Steve married Becky Fandrich on June 21, 1974 in Carrington, ND.

Steve was a member of St. Frances Xaiver Catholic Church. Steve had been in a Management Role with Cargill, working in that capacity for forty plus years. He made many lifelong friends during his time with Cargill while working in, North Dakota, Montana, Missouri, Indiana, and retiring in Illinois.  He moved back to Vincennes with Becky to be close to children and grandkids, leaving behind the Boyz in the Hood as they called themselves in Granville, IL. He was a person that could always draw people to him and would do anything for you. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren’s sporting events and loved having them over to swim. He enjoyed sitting by his pool, loved to grill, always had a garden and planted way too much.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Heiden of Vincennes; mother, Mary Heiden of Fargo, ND, his sons, Toby Heiden and his wife, Katie of Bruceville, Mike Heiden of Vincennes, Jon Heiden and his wife, Jeanne of Vincennes; his siblings, Neil Heiden and his wife Carla of New London, MN, Jeanette Wilson and her husband Howard of Ft. Morgan, CO, Joel Heiden and his wife Susan of West Fargo, ND, Garth Heiden and his wife Stacie of Fargo, ND, Allison Jordet and her husband Brad of West Fargo, ND, Matthew Heiden and his wife Barb of West Fargo, ND, Charles Heiden and his wife, Nichole of Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Macee Braun and her husband Josh, Madison Heiden and her fiancée Jackson Niehaus, Mallory Heiden, Gracie Hartley, Carson, Addyson, Griffin, Reese, Hudson, and Benson Heiden; his great grandchildren, Jaxon, Tessa, Remi, and Baby Braun on the way; sister-in-law, Colleen Heiden; and numerous nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Heiden and a brother, Mitchell Heiden.

Friends may visit with Steve’s family from 3-8 pm on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Highland Woods Community Center 1377 Hart St., Vincennes, IN 47591. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2004 N. 2nd St., Vincennes, IN 47591 with Rev. Tony Ernst celebrating. Steve will be cremated and the family will have a private burial service. On line memories may be shared with Steve’s family and friends at www.goodwinsievers.com.
