Washington’s City Council Council passed two ordinances after a second reading Monday night.
One ordinance increased the application fee to $300 for requesting a special meeting of the Board of Zoning Appeals. The ordinance also provides that the Building Commissioner must determine that there is an urgent circumstance that requires a special meeting.
The second ordinance changed a job description and title in the Utility Department creating the position of Key Account Specialist.
In other business, the Council passed a resolution appointing Electric Department Head, Randy Ennius as Washington’s commissioner on the Municipal Power Agency.
At the end of the meeting, the Council discussed the pros and cons of the current proposal from the County on a combined emergency dispatch center. The Council will look at the proposed agreement with the County at the next meeting and schedule a public hearing for further review.
