A man has been arrested following a Monday afternoon shooting in Martin County.
Indiana State Police say that around 2:20 pm yesterday, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of shots fired at 827 Main Street in Shoals.
When officers arrived, they say they found 39-year-old Jerimi Jones of Shoals with a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers conducted an on scene investigation that resulted in the arrested of 22-year-old Kesten Jones of Loogootee.
They say an altercation occurred between the two that lead to the shots being fired.
Jones is currently charged with murder and is being held in the Martin County Jail.
Police say that at this time, there is no threat to the public.
The investigation is ongoing.
