Last night the Barr Reeve Volleyball team improved to 3-0 with a straight set win over Vincennes Rivet 25-18, 25-18, 25-14. The Viking JV Claimed the win in two.

A new alliance is forming in college football. In short, there’s fears that the SEC, arguably the best conference when it comes to football, is getting too big and too powerful. Other major conferences – the Big Ten, Pac-12, and ACC, say they’re coming together to take on the SEC. It’s not clear what exactly it means yet. But time will tell.
The Milwaukee Brewers scored four runs in the seventh inning to come back and beat the Cincinnati Reds 7-4 in a battle of the top two teams in the National League Central. Milwaukee’s lead in the division grew to eight and a half games, but Cincinnati held on to its one game lead for the final Wild Card spot due to the Padres’ loss to the Dodgers.

Indiana basketball received a commitment from top-25 prospect Jalen Hood-Schifino Tuesday. The 6-foot-5 combo guard is the 23rd ranked high school senior in the nation, according to the 247 Sports composite ranking. He picked the Hoosiers over Tennessee, and had offers from schools such as Florida, Memphis and Texas. Hood-Schifino is originally from the Pittsburgh area and plays for the powerhouse Montverde Academy in Florida. He is Mike Woodson’s third commit for the class of 2022, joining Lawrence North guard Zach Gunn and Georgia forward Kaleb Banks. With the commitment, IU has the fifth-ranked recruiting class in the country.
The Colts have settled on a kicker. Rodrigo Blankenship will serve as Indy’s kicker this season after the team released Eddy Pineiro Tuesday. Both players had been perfect on field goals throughout two preseason games, but Blankenship had the edge as the incumbent. Pineiro made 23-of-28 kicks over two seasons with the Bears before signing with Indianapolis in May.
