Tuesday, troopers with the Indiana State Police Bloomington District and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) arrested a Mitchell man on charges of child exploitation, possession of child pornography, and drug charges.
The ICAC began its investigation after receiving five cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The cyber tips and subsequent investigation ultimately led to the arrest of 26-year-old Brennan D. Winkler on one felony count of child exploitation, 20 felony counts of possession of child pornography, one felony count of possession of meth, and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Master Trooper/Detective Kevin Getz and Trooper Robert Whyte were assisted by Troopers Sam Gillespie and Ben Burris along with representatives from the Lawrence County Prosecutors Office and Indiana Department of Child Services.
