The North Daviess Cougars Volleyball team fell to North Knox in 4. The Cougar JV also lost in two. North Daviess will play varsity only tonight against Mitchell. The Cougar Golf team is at Springs Valley, while the Boys Tennis team travels to Dubois.
The Washington Volleyball game against Vincennes Lincoln tonight at the Hatchet House has been cancelled. Washington Volleyball practice is on hold until September 10th, and games will resume on September 15th.
The Barr-Reeve Vikings middle school varsity team travelled to Gibson Southern tonight and suffered a close loss of 3 goals to 4 after a rain delay. Goals were scored by Nathaniel Keller (2) and Landon Gallagher. The High School Vikings kick off their season Tuesday evening on the road against Wood Memorial at 6 pm, and on Wednesday, the middle school also travels to Wood Memorial.
WHS JV defeated Reitz 2-0. Goals scored by Dominic Mattingly and Kevin Bonilla. Bonilla and Lukas Jansen recorded assists.

The St. Louis Cardinals allowed two hits and beat the Cincinnati Reds 3-1 Monday night to open a crucial three-game set at Great American Ball Park. Paul Goldschmidt hit a two-run home run in the first inning, as St. Louis closed to within 2 ½ games of the Reds for the final wild card spot in the National League. Jon Lester earned the victory after giving up one hit over six and a third innings. His lone hit allowed was a solo home run to Kyle Farmer in the second inning. Cincinnati has lost three in a row, and scored just one run in each game. Sonny Gray will start for the Reds Tonight.
The Indianapolis Colts placed three offensive starters on the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list Monday. Quarterback Carson Wentz, center Ryan Kelly and wide receiver Zach Pascal were placed on the list after coming into close contact with a team staff member who tested positive. Wentz was set to return to full team drills at practice yesterday, four weeks after undergoing foot surgery. If Wentz continues to test negative and is asymptomatic, he can return to practice Thursday. The Colts open the regular season in 12 days against the Seattle Seahawks.
