Thousands of people who were evacuated from Afghanistan are coming to central Indiana.
The Department of Defense announced Tuesday morning that Camp Atterbury, just west of Edinburgh, will temporarily shelter about 5,000 Afghans.
Indiana Representative Greg Pence says the camp will have things set up within the next week, but did not say exactly when the evacuees will arrive.
